Plan Your Gift

Planned giving to the Oregon Desert Land Trust can benefit land conservation and offer tax benefits to you. These are some of the most common (and easiest) ways to leave a legacy for the region.

Make a bequest.

Allocate any amount, percentage, or the remainder of your estate or other assets to Oregon Desert Land Trust through your will or revocable living trust. It’s easy to do and donors who leave a bequest can take an estate tax deduction of 100 percent of the gift’s value. This is a perfect way to benefit the Land Trust when you no longer need your assets yourself.

Name us as a beneficiary.

Designating the Land Trust as a beneficiary of your retirement account lets you give back and gain tax savings. IRA accounts listing Oregon Desert Land Trust as the beneficiary are free of estate and income taxes.

You can also name the Land Trust as a beneficiary of your life insurance policies. This simple step directs insurance proceeds to the Trust and removes these assets from your taxable estate.

Most importantly, talk with us.

If you’ve already included Oregon Desert Land Trust in your estate plans, please let us know. We’d like to thank you!
